The first event in the College Beer Club’s Key Partner Programme took place at the Courtauld Institute of Art in January 20111. Members were invited to a private viewing of Manet’s last great painting, the Bar at the Folies-Bergère, 1882. Emeritus Prorfessor John House spoke about the painting, while Meantime provided Club members with refreshment of a similar nature to that in the beer bottles famously featured.
